    historical homes
    amazing service
    refreshing lemonade
    confusing parking

Had a fantastic time with friends visiting historical homes like the magnificent Nathaniel Russell house and taking a stroll by The Battery. Our stay really stood out, especially with the excellent service from Maurice and refreshing lemonade on warm October afternoons. If you’re into history and beautiful architecture, you’ll love it here!

However, I found the parking situation a bit confusing, which added unnecessary stress to our arrival.

    lovely courtyard
    extensive breakfast options
    limited parking
    additional costs
    wait times for service

The Courtyard provided a lovely space to relax with water available for walks, enhancing the experience. Breakfast options were extensive, and we relished the convenience of having it delivered to the beautifully adorned ballroom balcony each morning. However, parking was limited to a small area behind the property, and the cost added up. Additionally, while the staff was generally welcoming, a few moments of wait time for service were noticeable during busy hours.

The complimentary sherry in the evening really added a nice touch, and the afternoon tea was delightful! We felt truly cared for like guests in someone’s home.

Felt like in a fairy, nothing to complain about.

    Exceptional Service and Historic Charm

I recently enjoyed a delightful stay where I was welcomed into a stunning historic home. The highlight of my experience was the exceptional service, particularly from Nicole, who made me feel right at home. Every morning, I savored deliciously customized breakfasts, and the afternoon tea was a wonderful touch.

    Exceptional Stay with Unmatched Hospitality

We spent a rejuvenating 2 nights in a cozy double room. The warm welcome by staff set the perfect tone, making us feel cherished. The proximity to incredible dining and historic sights enhanced our experience. Don't miss the local restaurants—they truly offer a taste of Charleston!

    delicious breakfasts
    cozy fireplace
    afternoon tea shortage

The stay was amazing with delicious breakfasts in the ballroom and a cozy fireplace in our spacious room. I loved relaxing on the charming porch and indulging in the fresh coffee delivered right to our door. The only thing was the afternoon tea ran out quickly, but that didn’t take away from the overall experience. 😊

great location but a bit noisy at night

The location made it easy for us to walk to attractions. The kids loved the afternoon tea. it was such a fun activity for the family.

The noise from the street at night was a bit disruptive.

    historic charm
    flexible dining options
    friendly staff
    noise levels
    housekeeping delay

I loved the historic charm of the John Rutledge House. The decor felt cozy and welcoming. The location made it easy to explore Charleston on foot. Breakfast offered great options. I enjoyed the corned beef hash and the croque madame, both delicious. The afternoon tea was a delightful treat for the family. Staff members were friendly and welcoming, making me feel at home. However, the room faced a busy street, so some noise trickled in at times, which disrupted my sleep a bit. Housekeeping was mostly good, but there was a minor delay in getting extra towels. A more consistent attention to detail in these areas would enhance the experience even further.
